Driving Targeted Traffic to Your
Website with Google AdWords
Addendum: - "As you can see
business has picked up. It's because of your
suggestion to use AdWords and my bidding high and
choosing good key words that got the ad a prominent
position. Of course living in the big apple doesn't
hurt and being able to follow through with good
training for the client—it's been scary how people
take to my work."

Driving Targeted Traffic to Your
Website with Google AdWords
I want to tell you about a little
advertising program I've been using that you might be
interested in looking into for your coaching
websites. It's called Google AdWords and it's
designed for small businesses. No, I am not getting a
kickback from Google for this. I'm just delighted in
the results I've been getting.
I set up
www.GirlGeekWebDesigns.com on AdWords for a
budget of $2.19 a day. Since it's inception on July
4, 2003, I've had 435 clicks-through on my site from
this program alone. I've
received at least 6 phone calls inquiring about my
services and have written 2 bids totaling over $1000.
My cost to date $97.25 or about $48 a month.
For a $5 set up fee you can get your
site listed on the "Sponsored Links" that run down the
righthand side of Google's search term results page.
There's no contract and no minimum time commitment, so
you can quit or change it any time. You can set up
any budget you want. This is a pay-per-click program,
so the key to success is selecting the right keyword
to bid on. The more you bid the more frequent and
higher your ad will appear in the Sponsored Links.
I've also optimized my website (to
boost rankings in all search engines) and have had an
additional 408 visits to my site in the same length of
time. After optimizing my site I also submitted it
for paid inclusion to Inktomi search engine which will
list my site on MSN, HotBot and other major portals
for $39 for the first URL. By the way, Inktomi was
just purchased by Yahoo (probably in it's effort to
regain #1 search engine status from Google).
Consequently, I've already earned 125% of my projected
yearly earnings from this website.
If your website is not getting the
target traffic you desire, your site may not be
properly promoted to your target market, not optimized
for search engines or submitted to the major search
engines. I have a new service, a "Well Website
Check-Up" where I go over your site design, html,
navigation, and functioning with a fine-toothed comb,
review your site statistics (where available), and
give your a comprehensive report about why your site
is not performing as you desire. I will also include
specific recommendations/suggestions for improvement.
